Omelette
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp finely chopped onion
- 1 tbsp finely chopped tomato
- 1 tbsp finely chopped capsicum
- 1 tsp oil or butter (for greasing)
- Handful of grated cheese (optional)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the air fryer
Set your air fryer to 160 °C and preheat for 3 minutes. Preheating is important for even cooking — skip it and the eggs may cook unevenly.
- 2
Prepare your pan
Lightly grease a small oven-safe dish or silicone mould with oil or butter. This prevents sticking and makes cleaning easy.
- 3
Beat the eggs
Crack the eggs into a bowl, add milk, salt, and pepper. Whisk vigorously for about a minute until the mixture is pale and frothy — this is what gives you the fluffy texture.
- 4
Add your fillings
Stir the chopped onion, tomato, and capsicum into the egg mixture. Pour it into the greased dish. Scatter cheese on top if using.
- 5
Air fry
Place the dish in the air fryer basket. Cook at 160 °C for 8–10 minutes. Check at 8 minutes — the omelette is done when the centre is set and no longer jiggles.
- 6
Serve immediately
Slide the omelette out of the dish onto a plate. Eat hot with toast or paratha.
Tips for Best Results
💡 Use a silicone mould
Silicone moulds are flexible, making it easy to pop the omelette out without breaking it.
💡 Do not skip milk
The milk creates steam inside the egg mixture, giving you a fluffy, light texture rather than a dense, rubbery omelette.
💡 Lower temperature = softer omelette
For a very soft, café-style texture, reduce to 150 °C and add 2–3 more minutes.
💡 Drain watery vegetables
Tomatoes release water when cooked. Pat them dry with a tissue before adding, or your omelette may turn out watery.

Why Make an Omelette in the Air Fryer?
With LPG cylinders running out across India, millions of households are turning to electric appliances to keep their kitchens running. The air fryer — originally celebrated for its ability to fry without oil — turns out to be surprisingly brilliant for eggs.
An air fryer circulates hot air evenly around food, which means eggs cook gently and consistently without the risk of a scorched bottom you get on a gas stove. The result is a puffy, restaurant-style omelette that holds its shape perfectly.
If you already own an air fryer, you have everything you need to make breakfast without gas — today.
What You Need
You will need an oven-safe pan or dish that fits inside your air fryer basket. A small silicone baking dish, a ramekin, or an aluminium foil tray all work well. Most 4-litre or larger air fryers can fit a standard 15 cm round pan.
